Tim Shangle, Vice President, Digital Strategy and Business Analytics
Shangle joined ChoiceOne Bank in 2013 in the Customer Service Center. He was promoted to Assistant Vice President of Innovation & Data Analytics in 2020 and promoted to Head of the newly created Innovation Department in 2022. He previously oversaw the Marketing Department, as well as all digital channel products. Before joining ChoiceOne, Shangle was the IT Director for the Theological Book Network in Grand Rapids. Prior to this, he was Web Architect, Interactive Media Developer for Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky.
Shangle earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids and a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky. He is also a graduate of the Michigan Bankers Association Perry School of Banking. Active in the banking industry, Shangle serves as chairperson of the American Banker Association’s (ABA) Emerging Leaders Committee. He also is a frequent national speaker on Artificial Intelligence and its role in community banking. He has been a featured speaker at the ABA’s Washington Summit, Utah Bankers Association Annual Convention, North Dakota’s Technology Conference and most recently at the North Carolina Bankers Association’s Emerging Leaders Convention.
Shangle is also active in his community, volunteering extensively with City Church Sparta, a new church plant in his neighborhood. He is the former Camp Dean for Lake Michigan Camp and Retreat Center, and former Commissioner for the Sparta Township Historical Commission. Shangle also participates in the Sparta Community Theater, including Shrek, Titanic, and Newsies. In addition, Shangle is an aspiring artist and has competed with his father Robert Shangle, and won ArtPrize, an art competition and festival located in Grand Rapids.
Tracy Straight, Mortgage Loan Originator
Straight joins ChoiceOne with 40 years of industry experience. His career began as a part-time teller while in college and progressed into multiple positions within national, regional and community banks including vice president in commercial lending and vice president managing a Mortgage department. He will assist consumers and customers with their home mortgage purchase, refinances, construction, and home equity needs. Straight will work out of the Grand Haven Branch located at 1120 S. Beacon Blvd. in Grand Haven, as well as covering the Harvey and North Muskegon Branches.
Straight has a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Northwood University, Midland. He is a past president, current member and board member of the Spring Lake Rotary club, and Chamber Ambassador for the Muskegon and Grand Haven Chamber. Straight is currently a member of the Finance Committee of All Shores Wesleyan Church in Spring Lake.
