ChoiceOne Bank Promotes Brent McCarthy, Ryan Wolthuis, Craig Oosterhouse, Welcomes Andy Usik

ChoiceOne Financial Services, Inc., and ChoiceOne Bank (NASDAQ: COFS) (“ChoiceOne”) are pleased to announce the promotions of Brent McCarthy, Ryan Wolthuis and Craig Oosterhouse while also welcoming Andy Usik.

Brent McCarthy is promoted to Senior Vice President, Chief Credit Officer

McCarthy joined ChoiceOne as Senior Vice President, Muskegon Market Executive in 2020. With a career spanning 28 years in commercial banking with community banks in West Michigan, McCarthy began working as a Credit Analyst and progressed to Senior Vice President and Chief Lending Officer before joining ChoiceOne. 

McCarthy has a Bachelor of Arts in Financial Administration from Michigan State University, East Lansing. Supporting his community, he is active in the Community Foundation for Muskegon County, No More Sidelines, Michigan Irish Music Festival and youth sports. 

Ryan Wolthuis is promoted to Senior Vice President, Senior Lender West Michigan

Wolthuis joined ChoiceOne Bank in 2020 as Senior Vice President, Grand Rapids Market Executive. With 23 years of commercial banking and executive management experience, Wolthuis began his banking career in 2001 at a Michigan bank in Grand Rapids as Commercial Loan Officer/Commercial Credit Analyst and progressed to Market Executive. In 2009, Wolthuis moved to another Michigan bank in Grand Rapids where he advanced over 11 years from First Vice President of Commercial Lending to Senior Vice President where he provided leadership to all loan departments within the Bank.   

Wolthuis has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Grand Valley State University, Allendale, and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Calvin College, Grand Rapids. Wolthuis also graduated from the ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking in partnership with the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Economic Club of Grand Rapids and was a longstanding member of West Michigan Commercial Alliance of Realtors. 

Craig Oosterhouse is promoted to Vice President, Market Manager for Grand Rapids and Holland

Oosterhouse joined ChoiceOne as Vice President, Commercial Loan Officer in the West Michigan Market in 2021 with 25 years of banking experience.  His most recent position before joining ChoiceOne was Vice President, Middle Market Commercial Lender with a regional bank in Holland. 

Oosterhouse is on the Zeeland Christian School Board and the Executive Board for Great Lakes Commercial Finance. Graduating from Calvin University, in Grand Rapids, Oosterhouse has a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy.

Andy Usik joins ChoiceOne as Vice President, Market Manager for Sparta and Muskegon

Usik joins ChoiceOne with over 19 years of business experience in the West Michigan Market. His business banking career spans 16 years with a regional bank beginning as a Commercial Credit Analyst and progressing to Business Banking Market Manager. Usik also served as General Manager of Halls Sport Center, his family's three-store boat dealership in West Michigan. 

Usik has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Grand Valley State University, Allendale, and a Bachelor of Arts in Finance from Michigan State University, East Lansing. Serving his community, Usik is a member of the Advisory Board for Kids’ Food Basket – Muskegon and a past committee member of the United Way of the Lakeshore.
